It dispenses both bagged and bulk (cooler) ice.  The customer simply inserts their money into the vending machine and selects "bag" or "cooler."  A credit card/debit card swipe can be installed for customer convenience.  The ice is distributed as a 16lb bag or 20lbs of bulk ice.  The ice vending machine weighs the proper amount of ice and then discharges it into the appropriate chute for the customer to retrieve.  Bagged ice is heat sealed rather than tied.  For bulk ice, the customers place their cooler in the proper place and the ice is dispensed into it after they pull the lever.  Any change due back to the customer is refunded in quarters.
